Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week and Compost-A-Thon

This celebration is open to everyone. Whether you collected food scraps for the week or not, please join us!  Bring friends and family to learn more about the local composting movement and celebrate composting, resource recovery and zero waste efforts with us!

    • City of Sarasota Vice Mayor Ahearn-Koch

    • City of Sarasota Sustainability Manager, Stevie Freeman-Montes

  • Food and Treats: With selections from local, sustainability focused service: Zildjian Catering and other local food.

  • Educational and Art Displays: ​

  • Childrens Activities: Including decorating pots to put plant starts in a compost/soil mix to take home

  • Raffle: Unique gifts and gift baskets for raffle

  • Compost Bin and System Displays: Check out different compost bins and systems and see if one is right for you

  • Education Tables: Learn how compost is connected to the watershed, food waste, and the creation of healthy soil.

  • Zero Waste Event Goals: See examples of how to reduce waste at your next event

3 Easy Options to RSVP:

  1. Register for the weeklong event and indicate you are attending the party.

  2. Register but indicate that you are only interested in attending the community party (not the weeklong food scrap collection portion)

  3. Simply email and RSVP with number in your group
