These programs have limited funding at this time, so we encourage everyone who enjoys these services to to Sunshine Community Compost to help keep the programs running! Show your support for this community work and today!
Please note that by the end of 2020 / beginning of 2021 community composting services will likely be switching out of a free service and into a fee-for -service model so that we can fairly compensate our staff for the labor intensive management of the sites and have adequate funding to operate the program. If so, we will be informing the public well in advance so they can either transition to backyard composting or prepare to offer a monthly or annual reciprocity fee.
For those who are not yet comfortable or able to host a backyard compost bin on their own, who don't have space, or simply like to gather with others in this effort, our community composting drop-off stations are a great option.
